The dinosaurs (MF and 128 CPU machines) are moving out and the new grid based, massive parallel processing solutions are moving in.We are moving from expensive high end hardware to commodity hardware. Open source or low priced software is replacing expensive software. Hardware is replacing software where performance demands it.
