Customer Challenge

REE faced a highly complex and expansive IT environment that included unnecessary resources and misconfigurations. This complexity hindered their operational efficiency and scalability. Additionally, the lack of professional DevOps support exacerbated these issues, impacting their ability to innovate and deploy solutions effectively in their global operations.

 

Partner Solution

To address these challenges, we implemented a comprehensive AWS Landing Zone with the Landing Zone Accelerator, streamlining REE’s infrastructure into a less complex, cost-effective environment aligned with best practices. We migrated their workload to optimize resource utilization and implemented AWS Transit Gateway, site-to-site VPN, and client VPN to enhance network connectivity and security. The deployment also included EC2 instances and FSx shares to support their computing and storage needs, respectively. Furthermore, we utilized AWS Backup for robust data protection and deployed Amazon WorkSpaces to provide secure, scalable virtual desktop experiences.

 

Results and Benefit

The implementation of these solutions transformed REE’s IT infrastructure, resulting in significant improvements in efficiency and cost-effectiveness. The streamlined environment reduced overhead and eliminated misconfigurations, allowing REE to focus more on core business functions and innovation. Enhanced connectivity and security measures ensured stable and secure operations across their global sites, while the robust backup solutions safeguarded critical data against potential threats. The adoption of Amazon WorkSpaces also enabled a flexible work environment, facilitating collaboration and productivity among their teams. Overall, these changes not only addressed the initial challenges but also positioned REE for accelerated growth and continued leadership in the electric and autonomous vehicle industry.
